Welcome to the Kiel Science Outreach Campus!
We do research on science communication
Within the Kiel Science Outreach Campus (KiSOC), we investigate how the meaning and the results of science can be communicated in an understandable way. In various research and development projects, we look at different formats of science outreach and investigate their impact. This includes, for example, multimedia learning environments, scientific exhibitions, or offerings in school laboratories. Our research also focuses on the further development and evaluation of presentation formats.
So how do we do it?
The KiSOC Network
In 2016, the KiSOC started as a Leibniz ScienceCampus. Today, it offers a network in which scientists work together with communication practitioners on new formats. In doing so, we continue to rely on the long-standing close partnership between Kiel University as an outreach-strong academic institution and the IPN.
The Research Projects
Within the KiSOC, we investigate the central questions of the overall project in individual research projects. One focus is on the doctoral projects of our PhD students. In addition, there are also projects of the junior research group as well as associated projects.
