We do research on science communication
At the Kiel Science Outreach Campus (KiSOC), we are investigating how the significance and the results of science can be communicated in an understandable way. Therefore, in various research and development projects, we look at how formats of science communication are designed and examine their effects. Some examples are multimedia learning environments, science exhibitions or programs in student laboratories. We also focus our research on the further development and evaluation of presentation formats.
How do we do this?
The KiSOC started in 2016 as a Leibniz ScienceCampus. Leibniz institutions and universities work together in the ScienceCampuses with a thematic focus as equal partners. After the funding period, we continue to rely on the long-standing close partnership between Kiel University as an outreach-strong university and the IPN in the KiSOC.learn more

Besides the IPN and Kiel University, additonal national and international partners strengthen the research profile of the KiSOC. These include museums and universities from Germany and abroad as well as other Leibniz Institutes. They support our projects with their expertise from a wide range of fields.our partners
